The penetration rate of smart speakers and by extension voice ai has been faster than any known technology. It has been faster than the Internet, TV, and Smart Phones. With this explosive growth, new avenues are opening up for businesses to reach out, engage, and add value to their customers. In 2009, it must have been inconceivable for most businesses to have imagined that one day they would need a Mobile App. Back then, it was difficult to imagine that there would be businesses that are only mobile apps – for example, Uber. Now, there is an even stronger trend in motion – the penetration of voice ai. In this webinar, you will learn how early adopters are deriving value out of the Amazon Alexa platform and how you can do the same for your business.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON: Supply Chain challenges: Distribution-the vital link for electronics manufacturing

Description

The supply chain for electronics is under tremendous stress in India. As the electronics industry undergoes changes, there are structural changes to the manner in which semiconductor and component players are operating. Most impacted by this are the distribution partners – who are being forced to reinvent themselves as more and more value-added activities in the signal chain are being pushed onto them. At the first edition of ITW@H, we had examined the issues surrounding Supply Chains for Electronics in India. As India was planning to exit the Lockdown and restart manufacturing of electronics, we had examined the challenges in rebooting India’s Electronics Supply Chain. We had examined two issues in detail – what are the challenges facing supply chain managers as they planned to restart production after the prolonged lockdown; and what are the challenges facing companies as India seeks to relocate manufacturing from China to India. Now we look at this from the Fulfillment angle. Distributors play an important role in meeting the just-in-time requirements of either EMS or ODM players, and are often tasked with managing the supply-to-line requirements of these manufacturing entities. Simultaneously, distributors are facing the challenges of re-inventing themselves, as business models evolve in the industry. They are being called upon to play an increased part in the design signal chain–and this explains the logic of large distribution companies acquiring and merging design houses into themselves. The Panel Discussion will examine the following issues: 1. The challenges facing electronics distributors as the industry undergoes structural changes 2. The possibility of additional component manufacturing taking place in India – either through additional investments by existing players, or new entrants (domestic or foreign) or entry of new distributors into the industry 3. Building integrity of forecasts by customers and challenges faced by distributors and ODM’s due to unrealistic and illogical forecasts by design houses

Post Covid Hring trends in the Semiconductor Industry.

Description:

Post Covid, Semiconductors need to think to map India as the hot spot in the semiconductor with the larger talent market. Companies with vigor capabilities with adequate capacity in the sub continent will help the same domain company to grow, upskill and use their resources. Essential infra to be planned with the Government so as to sail the business. Trend – demand for Design Engineers in RTL and HLS(high level synthesis) will increase in future mainly due to fact that FPGAs will finally make a cut from Embedded SoCs to Desktop/Server SoCs. Creation of IP would be demand for Design engineers who can do both software and hardware RTL/HLS designs and then design skills would become more important than verification as there would be more focus on porting accelerating algorithms on FPGA hardware than verifying them. It will be just like any other software engineer job – design, implement, debug/test/verify, maintenance – only additional thing would be that you would be doing it for a system with integrated CPU,GPU,FPGA.IoT ,5G ,AI and Automotive segments are still evolving, hence there are many opportunities in design as well as verification space. Opportunities are there as long as designs start becoming mature enough to support global requirements.Augment drones where embedded and hardware used to build upon the operational infrastructure and services to foster the development of a drone services market and of a robust, dynamic and innovation-oriented supporting framework.IoT has enabled many design challenges in the field of Low-Power Design, ParallelProcessing, Memories and Networking. Automotive segment is enabling design challenges with different safety standards, Real-time processing, connected cars. Until these products becomes successful, design challenges will remain for sure. IPv6, 5G, 4G, connected cars, there are so many other things which are driving communication markets which mainly includes base-station, micro-cells, pico-cells

Leveraging edge architectures for digital transformation in brownfield factories

Description

Brownfield factories have been operational for decades and it is practically impossible to revamp the entire automation simply to gain benefits from the industrial revolution. Usually it incurs huge capital as well as operational expense. However, everyone wants to embark on their digital transformation journey. Building Greenfield factories with next generation machines and technologies is ideally not always feasible. In the presentation, we would learn how factories can leverage edge architectures for making their existing installations smart without the need for replacing entire value chain. It will also highlight case studies from India, where MSMEs and SMEs have benefited from such installations thus, bringing about a digital transformation in their existing factory shop floors

Continous Quality Monitoring

Description:

In the present time, organizations are running on a racetrack to maximize the reach of products and services to the end-users. But a Quality engineering team seldom gets involved in the analysis of consumer behaviour, application usage and production tickets after the application is deployed to production. This often results in high defect leakage, and low application availability leading to the weak consumer experience. 74% Customer experience leaders acknowledge the need for more significant commitment to improving customer satisfaction, says Gartner’s studies for 2020. The 20-minute talk will provide a high-level view of how production defects analysis, application performance monitoring, usage pattern and sentiment analysis can be leveraged to improve the overall end consumer experience.
